Avrupa Yakasi is currently one of the most popular sit-coms in Turkey. It is set in the Niantai district of Istanbul. The writer for the series is Gulse Birsel. As of today, the series reached its fifth season.
The show is weekly and airs Wednesdays. The show aired on aTV first in the 2004 season and has been a widely watched show ever since. While lately the show's rating shares have fallen to %20's from %35's, in it's still second only to Yaprak Dokumu in Wednesdays, which still makes it a strong show in relation to other Turkish series.
