Samanu , Samanak , or Sumalak or SMLK (Kyrgyz) is a special type of sweet dish made from wheat germ, which is prepared for Nowruz. Women take a special party for it during the night, and cook it from late in the evening till the daylight, singing related songs. In Afghanistan and Tajikistan they sing Samanak dar Jush o ma Kafcha zanem - Digaran dar Khwab o ma Dafcha zanem.
