Musasir
Found in: Archaeological sites in Iran
Musasir was an ancient Mannaean city, acquired by the Urartian king Ishpuini ca. 800 BC (see the Kelashin Stele).
The city was formerly thought to be located in Iraq; however, recent excavations from Rabat tepe in north-western Iran suggest Musasir to be located just south of Lake Urmia.
